While no PML-N candidate ever succeeded from this consistency but this time they have gained the public support by elevating Chinot to district. Additionally, the association of former MPA Maulna Ilyas Chinioti with party will also help them to attract the religious votes.

Due to the tussle between party workers-backed Shaikh Qaiser Mahmood and business community-backed Sheikh Qaiser Ahmed, for the PML-N ticket, the party is still to make a decision in this regard but former is the frontrunner for it.
