Rawalpindi’s special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) court on Tuesday indicated former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf and seven other accused in Benazir Bhutto murder case.
ATC judge Habibur Rehman heard the case.
During the hearing the charge sheet against Pervez Musharraf, which held him responsible for aiding the murder of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto by not providing sufficient security to her, was read to him.
The former military ruler denied the charges against him following which the court sought evidences from prosecutor and adjourned the hearing the case till August 27.
Benazir Bhutto was killed in a gun and suicide bomb attack after an election rally in Rawalpindi on December, 27, 2007.
Pervez Musharraf was brought to ATC from his residence in Chak Shehzad in stiff security as hundreds of security personnel were deployed along the main road leading to the court and on rooftops as former president’s vehicle arrived.
The other accused indicted in Benazir Bhutto murder case include Saud Aziz, Rafaqat Hussain Abdul Rashid, Husnain Gul Sher Zaman, and Khurran Shahzad.
